Eclipse 3.1 Final 
Yeah，Eclipse 3.1 正式版本（不再是milestone，不再是RC）终于下线了，美国东部时间2005年6月28日，下午12：01。 马上就可以从Eclipse.org下载了（但是好慢，你可以想象出这个平台有多大的吸引力了吧。 Eclipse Foundation已经double了整个带宽了，还是慢）。 同时Eclipse Foundation也发表了News and Noteworthy和性能评测：
Eclipse 3.1种最大，可能也是最引人注意的，可能就是性能的大幅提升了（当然还有更多的RCP的支持）。 下图是不同平台测试Eclipse 3.1性能中的一个。 详细的，可以参考Eclipse提供的3.1的性能评测。
Eclipse Foundation也发起了一个基于公益行动的“百万下载挑战”活动，即：以60天为限（因为3.0.2在60天内达到了100万的下载量），如果小于这个天数，那么参与这个活动的个人，可以自愿的为公益事业做些贡献（比如做义工，向慈善机构募捐等）。
“It took roughly 60 days for us to ship 1 million copies of 3.0.2. We feel we can do better than this for 3.1. For every day less than 60 that it takes for us to reach our 1 millionth download, willing members of the Eclipse community will donate either time or money (as appropriate) to a charity of their choosing. For instance, if it takes us 20 days to reach 1 million then those pledging will donate 40 times (60 days less 20) whatever they’ve pledged. ”
你也可以去报名的，现在去报名还不迟的。 既然3.1已经发布了，那么这个百万下载的活动也就拉开序幕了（但是尚不知道去那里看下载的情况，但是我已经下载了，算我一次）。
