Before Eclipse 3.1 release the final version, the WTP project’s key develoepr, BEA, was saying that, due to the conflict with the 3.1 APT, the WTP project will be delayed till end of this year. However, in the Eclipse 3.1 release announcement, it said the WTP will be release a new version in July. It is true now. The WTP released a new milestone, M5. The M5 includes some new enhancements, such as:

• Support for Apache Geronimo, BEA Weblogic 9.0 and IBM Websphere 6.0.x servers.
• Enhanced JSP validation and support for JSP 2.0 Expression Language.
• Many refinements on Jar and Ear dependency management.
• Wizards to import and export EJB. Optional caching of DTD and other internet retrieved files.
• Templating support for DTD and CSS.

Eclipse

As I said before in my previous blog: Eclipse’s ecosystem, I don’t think Sun will join Eclipse soon (or maybe never). Now, Joe Keller, Sun’s VP of Marketing confirmed this in an interview with InfoWorld.

InfoWorld: There was a lot of talk this morning about the NetBeans open source tools platform. I think it could be argued that NetBeans doesn’t really have the reception in the market that Eclipse does, although some would disagree with that. So where is NetBeans headed?

Keller: We’re going to continue to invest in NetBeans. We think there is room for choice in development tools and we’ll continue to drive that. We’ll continue to be, if you will, supportive of Java communities, like Eclipse and others. We support Java communities and will continue to do that. We think there is room for a development tool that provides functionality for those who are developing for all of the Java platforms and provides a set of good choices out there. So we’ll continue to invest in NetBeans and I think you saw a number of demonstrations of that technology supporting development of applications for the Java Micro Edition platform. Earlier in the week you saw continuing support for developers who are looking for an easy-to-develop tool set in Java Studio Creator. And you saw the movement forward [of] our enterprise developers in a number of different projects.

IW: Are there any discussions anymore about Sun joining Eclipse?

Keller: Not currently. It’s something that we went through and evaluated, but we decided that it wasn’t something that was appropriate for Sun to do and that we would continue investing in excellent tools.

Eclipse，NetBeans

由于目前在北京的一个项目进入最后的冲刺阶段了，每天的工作时间超过了16个小时，我可能不得不减少更新这个blog的次数了。 日常每日的365Key的网摘可能也不得不取消了，因为连上网看看的时间都不多了。

因为项目的缘故，4月份的时候，曾经把胡子留了一个多月。 那个时候真是“胡子拉碴”的了。 后悔当时没有留下什么“玉照”。 也没有想过，如果真的要留4，5个月，会是什么样子的。 今天，看到网上有3个帅小伙（我可没有他们那么帅），胡子留了整整一年，而且，每个月都留下了照片，记录胡子生长的进度。 1年以后，看上去都是很cool的样子。 估计如果我留一年的胡子的话，不会比他们差到那里去。 抽个时间，还是要去试一下。

发现del.icio.us的查询Feed改进了一些。 我通过del.icio.us查询Eclipse，JavaOne相关的bookmark，并且subscribe了它的查询Feed。以前，feed返回就是一条链接，如果做bookmark的人写过一些extention的话，也会显示出来，类似于摘要（我做del.icio.us的bookmark的时候，通常都会写上一些extention最为摘要）。 今天突然发现，feed返回的内容增加了，还包含了bookmark的人，这个bookmark所属的所有tag信息。 作者和tag都是链接。 这个小改进，看上去还不错。

又回到北京了。 又是一个超过30天的公务出差。 所以今天没有更新blog。

已经太习惯飞行了，甚至不用那么早到机场，因为不用像出差少的人那样，总是担心时间不够。 而这次，却让我“匆忙”了一下。 因为这是我坐新加坡航空公司的飞机（那么多次）以来，第一次被shuttle bus送上停机坪，然后才登机的。 由于不是直接登机，所以登机的时间提前了20分钟。 而这个改变却没有事先提示一下。

飞行还是那样，6个多小时，除了吃，看看娱乐节目，就是睡觉。 搭乘新航的飞机，除了服务水准一流之外，唯一的好处，也就是可以看到最新的娱乐节目，通常上个月放映的大片，这个月就可以在机舱里看到了，而且是on demand的。

以前的一个同事，到机场接我。 一来我替他带了些东西，二来他刚刚买车，要来“炫耀”一下他的爱车：Buick。 这次回国，开始需要填写第三份表格了，海关申报表。超过5，000美元的外币，或者20，000的人民币；超过5，000人民币的物品（带回国不再带出的）都需要申报。 以前只是口头提醒，现在是要填写一份表格，出关，拿了行李之后，从绿色通道出去的时候，有人会收走的。 不知道为什么现在入关这么麻烦，入境表格之外，还有一张健康申报表，那个是03年SARS期间需要填写的，现在还要填。 而如今，还额外增加了海关申报表，更麻烦了。 有几个老外在飞机上问我，为什么这么麻烦，我也是无言以对。 去日本，泰国，新加坡，Joy去美国，都没有这么麻烦啊。

又回来了，我把MSN的名字，改为了“重返德军总部”。

为期4天的JavaOne 2005落幕了，一个盛大的10周年party吹灭了蜡烛。 我至少错过了第四天，要赶快恶补一下了。
